Lulu Mall Projects to Come Up in Andhra Pradesh: Agreement Signed in Presence of CM Chandrababu Naidu
Lulu Mall Projects in Andhra Pradesh:Lulu International Group has officially signed multiple agreements with the Andhra Pradesh government for major development projects across the state. The MoUs were exchanged during the inauguration of the 30th CII Partnership Summit in Visakhapatnam, which Vice President CP Radhakrishnan launched. The event saw several companies collaborate with the AP government, and the Lulu Group emerged as a key investor.
Major Agreements Signed
State government representatives and Lulu Group officials exchanged documents in the presence of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Lulu Group International Chairman & MD Yusuf Ali. The company committed to significant investments in retail, logistics, and food processing sectors.
1. World-Class Lulu Mall in Visakhapatnam
Lulu Group is constructing an integrated, world-class shopping mall in Visakhapatnam.
Key details of the project:
Location: 13.83 acres
Built-up Area: 13.5 lakh sq. ft
Investment: ₹1,066 crore
Direct Jobs: 5,000
Indirect Jobs: 12,000
Completion Deadline: 3 years
Type: 9th Lulu Mall in India
Construction will begin this week, confirmed Yusuf Ali.
2. Food Processing & Export Operations
Lulu Group has also signed agreements in the food export and processing sector.
The company announced:
Procurement and export of mangoes, guavas, and spices from Andhra Pradesh
Export operations to begin from January 2026
Establishment of a logistics procurement and export center in Rayalaseema
CM Chandrababu Naidu’s Response
Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu said the long-pending Visakhapatnam Lulu Mall project, which was stalled under the previous government, has finally been revived.
He highlighted:
The arrival of global companies like Google in Vizag strengthens the investment climate
Lulu Mall will significantly boost tourism and the local economy
Requested Lulu Group to purchase agricultural produce directly from AP farmers, supporting the agri sector
Naidu stated that the Lulu Mall would become a landmark destination for tourism and employment in Visakhapatnam.
Yusuf Ali on Reviving the Vizag Project
Yusuf Ali revealed that the earlier mall project could not move forward due to the unstable environment under the previous administration.
After Chandrababu Naidu returned to power in 2024, the government reviewed the unused project land and invited the Lulu team to revive the plan.
After detailed discussions, Lulu Group agreed to restart the project at the same location.
Yusuf Ali also recalled that it was former Vice President Venkaiah Naidu who first introduced him to Chandrababu Naidu, marking the beginning of a long-term partnership.
