Bihar Assembly Elections 2025: The much-awaited first phase of polling in Bihar will take place on Thursday, November 6, marking the beginning of the high-voltage political battle in the state. Voters across 121 constituencies will exercise their franchise through EVMs to decide the fate of several prominent leaders from major parties.

This phase features a lineup of star contestants, including RJD leader and Mahagathbandhan CM candidate Tejashwi Yadav, his brother Tej Pratap Yadav, BJP leader Samrat Chaudhary, and Bhojpuri superstar Khesari Lal Yadav.  Test of Fire for Tejashwi and Tej Pratap Yadav

The spotlight in the first phase is on Tejashwi Yadav, the chief ministerial face of the INDIA Alliance, who is seeking a third consecutive win from Raghopur. His main rival is BJP’s Satish Kumar, who had earlier defeated Tejashwi’s mother Rabri Devi in 2010. Adding more heat to the contest is Chanchal Singh from Prashant Kishor’s Jan Suraj Party.

Meanwhile, Tej Pratap Yadav, founder of the newly formed Janshakti Janata Dal, is contesting from Mahua. The seat has become a hotbed of multi-cornered competition, with RJD’s Mukesh Raushan, LJP (Ram Vilas) candidate Sanjay Singh, and independent Ashma Parveen also in the fray.

Raghunathpur: Osama Shahab, son of the late Bahubali leader Mohammed Shahabuddin, is contesting here. The NDA has called his entry a sign of the return of “Jungle Raj.”

Mokama: Controversial JDU MLA Anant Singh, currently in jail, faces RJD’s Veena Devi, wife of Bahubali Surajbhan Singh.

Chhapra: Popular Bhojpuri actor Khesari Lal Yadav enters politics, contesting on an RJD ticket.

Kargahar: Singer Ritesh Pandey represents the Jan Suraj Party.

Aliganj: Folk singer Maithili Thakur is contesting as a BJP candidate.
