Actor Venu’s Shocking Revelation: “I Lost Lakhs Trusting a Star Hero”

The Telugu film industry is full of dreams, fame, and unexpected turns. Many come to the industry hoping to shine, but only a few manage to make it big. Even actors with strong family and political backgrounds sometimes fade away despite having talent and connections. Actor Venu Thottempudi is one such name who once enjoyed stardom but later disappeared from the limelight.

A Strong Beginning

Venu Thottempudi, who hails from a politically influential family, made his acting debut with Swayamvaram, which turned out to be a blockbuster. He later delivered a series of hits like Chirunavvuto, Manasu Paddanu, Hanuman Junction, Pellam Oorelithe, and Kalyana Ramudu. However, after a few years of success, a streak of flops halted his career growth.

Despite his efforts to reinvent himself as a hero, co-star, and comedian, Venu couldn’t regain his lost charm. His later appearances in films like Dammu and Ramachari didn’t make much impact, and he eventually took a long break from movies.

A Decade Away from Films

After nearly a decade, Venu made a comeback in 2022 with Rama Rao On Duty, starring Ravi Teja. Unfortunately, the movie’s poor performance shattered his comeback hopes. Since then, Venu has been focusing on his business and family life.

He is married to his cousin’s daughter, Anupama Chowdhury, who holds an MBA from Madras University and is a trained interior designer. The couple has a son and a daughter.

“Cinema Is My Life”

In a recent interview, Venu opened up about his personal and professional journey. “My life has always been about cinema. I’ve faced many ups and downs, but my wife stood by me through everything. Managing home and kids is the toughest job in the world, and she does it gracefully,” he shared.

“I Lost Lakhs Because of Trust”

During the same interview, when asked about his strained relationship with actor Jagapathi Babu, Venu made a surprising revelation.

“We did Khushi Khushiga and Hanuman Junction together. Jagapathi Babu was very friendly back then. After Hanuman Junction, something happened that made me lose around ₹14 lakhs. He personally requested me to give money to someone, and I trusted him. But that person never returned the money. Jagapathi Babu didn’t even follow up on it, and I just let it go,” Venu said.

He further added, “It was a big amount for me in those days. I don’t like sharing my sorrows, but that incident taught me a lesson. I haven’t met Jagapathi Babu since then.”

Venu’s comments have now gone viral on social media, and fans are curious to see if Jagapathi Babu will respond to these claims.
