Popular singer Vani Jayaram passed away on Saturday. She is 78 years old. Initial information is that he slipped and died at his residence in Nungabakkam, Chennai. Police is on the case. She has earned her own identity as a South Indian movie playback singer.

Vani Jayaram’s real name is Kalaivani. She has earned her own identity as a South Indian movie playback singer. He began his reign in 1971 and continues for five decades. He has sung more than ten thousand songs in about a thousand movies. Along with the movies, he also sang thousands of devotional songs. He sings in 19 languages including Telugu and Tamil. Awarded as Best National Female Singer three times. He won five awards for his first song.
Vani Jayaram was born in Vellore, Tamil Nadu. She was born as the fifth daughter of eight children. His mother was a disciple of the scholar Veena Ranga Ramanuja Iyengar. Vani Jayaram developed a passion for music in childhood. He participated in the All India Radio show at the age of 8. He studied Carnatic music by Cuddalore Srinivasa Iyengar, TR, Balasubramanian, RS Mani, and Hindustani music by the renowned Ustad Abdul Rahman Khan. When the news of Vani Jayaram’s death broke, the film world was in mourning.
After the marriage, Vani Jayaram settled in Mumbai. Unexpectedly, after meeting Hindi music director Vasanth Desai, his career took a turn. She made her debut as a playback singer in the famous Hindi film Guddi directed by Hrishikesh Mukherjee with ‘Bole Re Papi Hara…’ and fulfilled her childhood dream.
