Thammudu Movie

After “Bheeshma” and “Rang De”, Nithin has not had a proper film. After making “MCA” with Nani and scoring a hit with “Vakeel Saab” after a gap of four years, this time Nithin has come forward with Sriram Venu. The special attraction of this film, titled “Thammudu,” is the lyricism. The heroine of yesteryear has now started her second innings with this film. In this context, looking at the trailer, it is understood that it is a sentimental-action film. Is this at the level of this director’s previous two films? Let’s see the answer.
Thammudu Movie Story
Going into the story… Jai (Nithin) is an archery player. Due to some mental block, he is unable to hit the bull’s eye. Jai’s friend Chitra (Varsha) discovers that the reason is a personal reason. In the process, she finds her older sister (Laya,) whom she lost when she was a child, and tells her that if she meets her, the block will be removed. Thus, the two of them embark on a search for their older sister. While her older sister Jhansi (Laya) is involved in an accident, she unexpectedly meets Jai. What kind of accident is she involved in, and how does Jai save her?
If you look at the story itself, this doesn’t seem new. It doesn’t mean that the Pony story is at all tense.
The reason for the separation between the sister and brother is also very weak. How did they think the original point would be convincing on screen? Why didn’t they think that a character who has distanced himself from his brother for such a silly reason would be useless, no matter how valuable he is later shown to be?
And the scenes of walking in the woods with the Intillipadi brothers, the people of that area chasing them to kill them, the villain gang chasing them on the other side.. A little boy has some disorder, a woman has a stomachache, while the hero is fighting on one side, and the woman is giving birth on the other. When did you think such scenes would be so sentimental? These days, such scenes are not only trolled, but they also create a sentimental feeling.
It seems that the director intended one thing, but it turned out to be something else. He introduced the villain character as a variety. But later on, the character becomes extremely ridiculous and irritating. With that, the audience starts laughing and trolling even in serious scenes. Similarly, the phone call scenes between Sapthami Gowda and Nithin are also very funny and irritating.
After a quarter of an hour of the first half, you start to feel that something is different. The story, which seemed to be getting into a rut for a while, falls into a pit and never gets up again. Until the interval, walking, hiding, and fighting in the forest sufficed.
The second half is not much different either. Same plot, same mood. The actual conflict point is not strong and the screenplay is weak, so you don’t know what to expect until the end. Even if you want to sit and see how the elder sister and younger brother meet, you don’t have enough patience. I don’t know if that climax scene paid off in any way.
This film, which has a narrative that lacks grip throughout, stands as an example of how screenplay and dialogue should not be.
Technically, Ajaneesh Lokanath’s music is not that great this time. There are some scenes in the background music that are good, but people expect more from Ajaneesh.
Guhan’s camera work is good. But it’s not of much use. It proves that even with an award-winning editor, it’s impossible to pull off such content and make it compelling.
Nithin’s acting is good, but he lacks courage in writing and dialogue. The fact that the audience laughed at his climactic fight on the bridge shows the range in which the director has played with his career.
There is no need to talk about Laya’s acting. She expressed every expression as much as she needed to. Even after all these years of a gap in acting, there was no difference. It was like a continuation of when she stopped acting. But it is sad that her second innings is starting with this film.
Sapthami Gowda’s character is a bit of a flop. Very poor writing. Varsha Bollamma is a somewhat meaningful character, but she, too, is made to suffer through fights.
Swasika Vijay is doing well in the negative role of Gutthi, who roams around.
Srikanth Iyengar, Temper Vamsi, and Hariteja did justice to their scenes.
Saurabh Sach Deva is a good actor and a good dancer. Although his screen presence is good, as mentioned above, he gets annoying with the same kind of dynamics as the story progresses.
Recently, a movie called “Arjun Son of Vyjayanthi” was released. While the plot point is about a son saving his mother, here the story is about a younger brother saving his sister. Love, misunderstandings, sacrifices, and fights are common in both. But this younger brother tested the patience of the audience. He wrote and took the characters and ambiance of the original movie without making them feel natural. There is nothing but buildup for each character. If you look at the background of the village called “Ambargodugu”, it reminds you of the scene in “Acharya”, and it seems very natural. It seems that a movie like this, which stands as a shining example of unnaturalness, has not come out in the last decade.
Finally, no matter how boring it is, the audience sighs and thinks, “Anugachthi Pravahaha,” but at one point, the death mantra is chanted on the screen. It is a situation where the director’s kind heart should be touched,d that the audience is doing it for them. In one scene, a man from Ambergadugu raises his head in frustration and shouts strangely. After watching the climax of the film, an audience member in the hall shouted the same thing.
It’s hard to review this film more sensitively than this. Just looking at the title or going back to Laya, it will make even the most generous audience cringe.
