Telangana to Establish North East Connectivity Centre in Future City, Announces CM Revanth Reddy
Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy announced that the state government is ready to work closely with all North-Eastern states and will allot free land in Bharat Future City for the construction of the country’s first North East Connectivity Centre. He declared that this initiative will further strengthen cultural, technological, and developmental ties between Telangana and the North-Eastern region.
Speaking at the inauguration of the Telangana–North East India Connect: Sanskritula Sangamam – Samriddhiki Sopanam festival held in Hyderabad, the Chief Minister emphasised Telangana’s commitment to supporting every Northeastern state in building individual facilities within the upcoming centre. The event was attended by Telangana Governor Jishnu Dev Verma, his spouse, Smt. Sudha Dev Verma, Tripura Governor Nallu Indrasena Reddy, several ministers, senior officials, and nearly 300 delegates from the North-Eastern states.
A Hub for Culture, Technology and Collaboration
CM Revanth Reddy highlighted that the proposed connectivity centre will serve as a multi-purpose hub for all eight North-Eastern states—
Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, and Tripura.
The centre will feature:
- State-wise dedicated buildings
- Hostel and food facilities
- Arts, crafts, and cultural exhibition zones
- Technology and innovation spaces
- Sports and tourism promotion areas
He noted that Telangana shares a strong bond with the region, further deepened by Tripura-origin Governor Jishnu Dev Verma serving in Telangana and Telangana-origin Nallu Indrasena Reddy serving as the Governor of Tripura.
Hyderabad Emerging as a Global Investment Destination
Reiterating Telangana’s growth story, Revanth Reddy stated that Hyderabad and Telangana have already become major investment destinations, particularly for global companies seeking China +1 alternatives. The state is leading in IT, Pharma, GCCs, Data Centres, and Healthcare, and the government is aiming to elevate these sectors further.
He requested full support from the Governor and North East Connect representatives for the upcoming Telangana Rising – 2047 Global Summit, scheduled for December 8th and 9th in Hyderabad, marking two years of his government’s governance.
Strengthening Ties Between Telangana & the North-East
The Chief Minister said that the North-Eastern community has made Telangana their second home. Thousands of people from the region living in Hyderabad are excelling in:
- IT and Pharma
- Healthcare
- Hospitality
- Sports
- Startups
- Tourism
He appreciated their contribution to Telangana’s development and said the state welcomes and supports continued cultural and economic integration.
“The Telangana–North East India Connect festival marks just the beginning of deeper cooperation, showcasing unity and the shared spirit between Telangana and the North-Eastern states,” he added.
