Jabardasth fame Soumya Rao needs no special introduction. With her comedy timing and unique hosting style, she quickly gained a fan following. Even with limited Telugu language skills, she made a mark in Jabardasth within a short span. However, her sudden disappearance from the show left the audience confused and curious.
For months, various speculations surfaced on social media about her exit. Many blamed Hyper Aadi for her removal from the show. Recently, Soumya Rao finally broke her silence in an interview and revealed the actual reason behind leaving Jabardasth.
“Hyper Aadi Supported Me” – Soumya Rao
Soumya cleared all circulating rumors regarding Hyper Aadi:
“Why would Hyper Aadi be the reason? He supported me from day one. He even took me to the directors and offered me a role in Sridevi Drama Company.”
With this clarification, she completely shut down negative publicity targeting Hyper Aadi.
No Truth in Body-Shaming Rumours
There were rumors that Soumya left due to insults and body-shaming during the show. But she clarified:
“All punches are made for entertainment. Nothing is meant to humiliate. Aadi sir taught me stage manners and how to behave on camera. I was never upset about jokes.”
She emphasized that audiences should understand the comedy format and not take it personally.
Rohini Episode — A Small Misunderstanding
Soumya also reacted to the popular Rohini “bog” skit issue:
“I had language limitations then. I misunderstood the scene and felt uncomfortable for a moment. After the shoot, everyone explained it was just comedy. Then I relaxed.”
She stated that on comedy shows, such interactions are common and not intentional.
Not a Replacement for Anasuya
Soumya rejected the narrative that she copied Anasuya’s anchoring style:
“They are senior anchors with a different level of network. My approach is my own style.”
She also clarified that she did not enter the industry because of Anasuya — their acquaintance developed later.
Will She Return to Jabardasth?
Soumya revealed that her agreement ended, and she didn’t ask anyone to extend it:
“If someone offers me honestly, I’ll gladly entertain the audience again.”
She indirectly credited Hyper Aadi for helping her shift to Sridevi Drama Company.
