Kurnool Bus Tragedy: Hyderabad-Bengaluru Route Turns Fatal as Fire Claims 11 Lives
Kurnool Bus Tragedy: What Happened in the Kurnool Bus Accident?
Kurnool Bus Tragedy: In a devastating incident on the Hyderabad-Bengaluru highway near Chinnatekur in Kurnool district, a private travel bus caught fire in the early hours of Friday, resulting in the death of at least 11 passengers. The Kaveri Travels bus, carrying 43 people, had departed from Hyderabad’s Kukatpally on Thursday night en route to Bengaluru.
How Did the Fire Start? Was a Bike Involved?

According to DIG Praveen Kumar, the bus was speeding when it collided with a bike that suddenly appeared on the road. While the rider was thrown aside and later found dead, the motorcycle got lodged under the bus, causing friction and sparks. The petrol tank exploded, igniting flames that quickly engulfed the vehicle.
Passengers Burnt Alive in Their Sleep

Most passengers were asleep when the fire broke out. The bus crew reportedly exited in panic, and many passengers were not alerted in time. Strong winds accelerated the fire’s spread, leaving little chance for escape. Some managed to break emergency exits and windows, but many were trapped inside.
Casualties and Survivors: Children Among Victims
Out of the 43 onboard, 11 have been confirmed dead, including two children. Several others sustained serious injuries and were rushed to nearby hospitals. Police confirmed that 23 passengers escaped safely, while others remain unaccounted for.
