Jigris Movie Review: A Road Trip Comedy Without a Heroine!

Jigris is a youthful Telugu comedy directed by Harish Reddy Uppula and produced by Krishna Vodapalli, who happens to be Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s childhood friend. The film stars Krishna Burugula, Ram Nithin, Dheeraj Athreya, and Mani Vaka in lead roles under the banner of Mount Meru Pictures. Interestingly, Jigris has no heroine — something quite rare in recent Telugu films.

Sandeep Reddy Vanga himself supported the promotions, helping the film grab attention before its theatrical release on November 14. The premieres, however, were held two days earlier.

Story:

Praveen (Ram Nithin), Karthik (Krishna Burugula), Prashanth (Mani Vaka), and Vinay (Dheeraj Athreya) are childhood friends who dream of going to Goa together. One night, under the influence of alcohol, they set off for Goa in a worn-out Maruti 800. Their journey, however, takes unexpected turns when the car breaks down midway.

A mechanic joins them, leading to a series of hilarious and chaotic incidents. With no money left and no plan, their Goa dream becomes a rollercoaster ride filled with fun, fights, and friendship.

Analysis:

Though the story reminds one of movies like Ee Nagaraniki Emaindi, Jigris offers fresh humor through quirky situations. The dhaba scene, Maoist encounter, condom mix-up, lorry chase, and chicken scene — all deliver strong comic moments.

The movie balances lighthearted fun with a touch of emotion in the climax, emphasizing the true meaning of friendship. For those who love road-trip comedies and buddy films, Jigris offers a few solid laughs.

Performances:

Krishna Burugula impresses with his comic timing and natural performance.

Ram Nithin, known for Mad and Mad Square, once again shines in his boy-next-door role.

Dheeraj Athreya and Mani Vaka complement the group well, maintaining the fun vibe throughout.

All actors play their parts sincerely, making the audience connect with their friendship.

Technical Aspects:

Cinematography: Visuals look vibrant and capture the fun road-trip atmosphere.

Music: Background score is engaging, though the songs are just average.

Direction: Harish Reddy Uppula deserves credit for delivering laughter through simple, relatable moments.

Production Values: The movie is neatly made with a decent budget and looks technically sound.

Verdict & Rating:

Overall, Jigris is a lighthearted comedy that showcases the journey and friendship of four childhood buddies heading to Goa. Despite a familiar storyline, the film entertains with its humor and emotional touch.

Rating: 2.75/5

If you want to laugh with your friends and enjoy a simple, fun Telugu comedy, Jigris is worth a watch.
