Harish Rao Calls Telangana Global Summit 2025 a “Total Flop”, Accuses Revanth Reddy of Fake Investment Claims
Former Telangana Minister and senior BRS leader Harish Rao made explosive allegations against the Telangana Rising Global Summit 2025, organised by the Congress government. He accused Chief Minister Revanth Reddy of misleading the public by showcasing false investment figures and staging the summit as a publicity stunt rather than a real development initiative.
“Vision Document Has No Vision”: Harish Rao
Harish Rao strongly criticised the so-called Vision Document released at the summit, stating that it lacked clarity, direction, and commitment. He described it as a “visionless document” filled with misleading data and colourful pages without real purpose.
According to him, the Global Summit failed to attract major international leaders or foreign investors as promised. He claimed that instead of global delegates, the government filled seats with party workers and students to create a false impression of success.
Allegations of Real Estate Scam in the Name of Global Summit
Harish Rao accused the state government of using the Global Summit as a cover for a large-scale real estate scam. He alleged that lands near Pharma City were purchased through benami names and promoted as a “Future City” to artificially inflate land prices.
He claimed that the summit had no real objective of attracting industries and was instead designed to promote real estate interests linked to powerful individuals.
Questions on MoUs and Investment Claims
Harish Rao raised serious questions about past investment claims made by the government:
He questioned the fate of:
₹40,232 crore investments announced at the Davos meet in 2024
AI Global Summit MOUs signed in 2024
₹1.78 lakh crore investment claims from January 2025
Promised employment figures running into tens of thousands
He challenged CM Revanth Reddy to release a white paper detailing actual investments received and real jobs created.
Industries Moving Out of Telangana
Harish Rao alleged that several Hyderabad-based pharma companies, including Sigachi Industries and Virupaksha Organics, shifted their projects to Andhra Pradesh due to the uncertainty created by the “Future City” narrative.
He stated that these companies invested over ₹2,300 crore in Andhra Pradesh and promised thousands of jobs, resulting in Telangana losing valuable industrial opportunities.
Tony Blair and Subbarao Comments Spark Political Tension
Harish Rao pointed out that former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair and former RBI Governor Duvvuri Subbarao had praised the development achieved during KCR’s rule during the summit itself, which he claimed embarrassed the current government.
He accused Revanth Reddy of damaging the legacy of development built during the BRS regime and appealed to him not to destroy the state’s progress.
Heavy Political Accusations Against Congress Leadership
The former minister further accused the Congress government of favouring large corporations while ignoring the public interest. He claimed that the Global Summit was designed to benefit select corporate groups and questioned the contradictions between the national Congress leadership’s statements and state government actions.
Demand for White Paper
Harish Rao ended his address by openly challenging the Chief Minister to publish a detailed white paper showing:
Actual funds received from MoUs
Number of companies grounded in the state
Real jobs created for Telangana youth
He asserted that only transparency would reveal the truth behind the “hyped” Global Summit.
