Free LPG Cylinder Scheme 2025 – Get a Free Gas Connection + ₹300 Monthly Subsidy

Big news for households across India — the application process has begun again for the Free LPG Cylinder Scheme under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY). Eligible families can now register to receive a free LPG cylinder and get a subsidy of ₹300 every month.

What’s in the Scheme for You?

Free initial LPG connection — including cylinder, pressure regulator, safety kit, and installation charges are covered by the government.

No deposit required — The first gas refill and stove installation are provided without any advance payment.

Subsidised refills — Once your cylinder is refilled, you continue to get a subsidy of up to ₹300 per cylinder.

Health & environment benefits — Switching to clean LPG helps protect women’s health and reduces indoor air pollution, contributing to a better environment.

To date, over 10.33 crore beneficiaries across India have availed of this scheme, and with a fresh allocation of ₹12,000 crore for 2025–26, the program is set for further expansion.

Why This Scheme Matters

The Free LPG Cylinder Scheme is more than just a subsidy — it’s an empowerment tool. By giving poor households free access to cooking gas, it reduces indoor air pollution, lowers health risks (especially for women and children), and helps families save money. It’s a small step by the government but a major leap for welfare, health, and environmental safety.
