Deepika Padukone Opens Up on 8-Hour Work Rule: “I Just Gave Birth… The Concern Is Real”
Deepika Padukone 8-hour work rule: Deepika Padukone has once again become the centre of discussion in Bollywood circles due to her strong remarks on working hours. The actress, who recently embraced motherhood, has been trending ever since she stated that she would work only 8 hours a day, a decision that created a major buzz in the Indian film industry.
This condition reportedly led to her exit from two massive films starring Prabhas — Kalki 2898 AD Part 2 and Spirit. The makers of both films had officially announced her removal after scheduling issues emerged due to her strict work-hour policy. While many believed the controversy had ended, Deepika’s latest comments have brought the topic back into the spotlight.
Speaking recently about her decision, Deepika said:
“Now that I have become a mother, I value and respect my own mother even more. Balancing a career and raising a child is incredibly challenging. Women who return to work soon after childbirth need support and understanding. Working 8 hours a day is healthy for both mind and body. You can give your best only when you are mentally and physically fit. Working under pressure isn’t right.”
She further added that time is the most valuable resource:
“Even in a regular office job, people work only 8 hours. Time is like money. I must choose wisely whom I spend it with and how. That is what real success means. I still stand by my decision — working 8 hours a day is absolutely right for me.”
On the professional front, Deepika Padukone is currently busy shooting for her upcoming action entertainer “King” with Shah Rukh Khan, directed by Siddharth Anand. The recently released teaser has already created massive hype, and the film is scheduled for release next year.
