AP Government’s Big Achievement: 3 Lakh Houses Distributed in a Single Day
AP 3 lakh houses inauguration: In a historic move, the Andhra Pradesh government has brought great joy to thousands of poor families. Under the leadership of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, the coalition government has completed and distributed 3 lakh houses to beneficiaries across the state in a single day. This massive housing initiative marks a new chapter in the state’s welfare and development programs.
A Promise Fulfilled Under the Housing for All Scheme
After the coalition government came to power, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu prioritized both development and welfare schemes. One of the key promises made in the election manifesto was to provide houses for the homeless poor under the Housing for All and Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) schemes.
In just 17 months, the government completed 3,00,192 houses and handed them over to the beneficiaries.
3 Lakh Housewarming Ceremonies Held Across Andhra Pradesh
For the first time in Andhra Pradesh’s history, mass housewarming ceremonies (Gruhapravesams) were held simultaneously across the state.
Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu inaugurated the event from Devagudipalli village in Rayachoti mandal of Annamayya district, where he virtually launched the completed houses across the state.
The beneficiaries received keys to their new homes during the ceremony.
Here’s a breakdown of the housing projects completed under various schemes:
PMAY-BLC: 2,28,034 houses
PMAY-Gramin: 65,292 houses
PMAY-Janman: 6,866 houses
Free Sand Policy and Quick Completion of Houses
To ensure speedy construction, the government introduced a free sand policy, making nearly 20 tons of sand available per house. This policy played a major role in the timely completion of the housing projects.
Government’s Focus on Welfare and Transparency
The Chandrababu Naidu-led government emphasized that shelter for the poor remains one of its top priorities. Since 2014, the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) government has completed over 8 lakh houses in various categories.
The present coalition government achieved a remarkable feat by completing 3 lakh houses in just 17 months, setting a new record in welfare delivery.
Clearing Past Dues and Reviving Cancelled Projects
The government also took corrective steps to revive housing projects halted by the previous administration. Around 4.73 lakh houses that were canceled earlier were reinstated, and pending dues for 2.73 lakh beneficiaries were cleared in stages.
This effort reflects the government’s commitment to fulfilling every promise made to the people and restoring faith in public welfare initiatives.
Conclusion: A New Milestone in AP’s Development Journey
The mass inauguration of 3 lakh houses under the Housing for All scheme stands as a proud milestone in Andhra Pradesh’s development story. With continuous focus on welfare and transparency, CM Chandrababu Naidu’s government has once again proved that development with compassion remains its core principle.
As the beneficiary step into their new homes, this moment will be remembered as one of the largest and fastest housing initiatives in India’s history.
