KTR Breaks Down, Alleges Congress Defamed Him With Drug & Heroine Links
BRS Working President K. T. Rama Rao (KTR) on Thursday made emotional allegations against the Congress government in Telangana, accusing it of spreading false propaganda against him for nearly five years.
Speaking to the media at Telangana Bhavan before appearing for the SIT inquiry, KTR claimed that Congress leaders deliberately attempted to defame him by linking his name to drug cases and alleged relationships with heroines, causing severe mental distress to his family, including his children.

“They tried to malign my character by spreading false stories involving heroines and drugs. It caused mental agony not just to me, but also to my children,” KTR said.

‘Congress Conspiracies Are Nothing New’
Recalling the Telangana statehood movement, KTR said the party had faced several conspiracies in the past and emerged stronger.
“During the Telangana movement, many cases were filed against us. We never backed down. These tactics will not succeed now either,” he said.
KTR emphasized that the BRS government never indulged in harassment politics or targeted opposition leaders and their families through false cases.

On the phone tapping case, KTR said he is ready to cooperate fully with the investigation.
“I will attend the inquiry. But I want to know — is there even a single piece of official evidence? Or is this all based on media leaks?” he questioned.
He further asked whether any senior police officer would publicly deny that phone tapping has occurred in Telangana.
Alleges Diversion From Singareni Coal Scam
KTR accused Chief Minister Revanth Reddy of using the phone tapping issue to divert attention from the alleged Singareni coal scam, which he claimed involved thousands of crores.
“This drama is meant to shift focus away from corruption. The Centre has remained silent on the coal scam exposed by BRS,” he alleged.
‘We Will Fight Until Justice Is Done’
Concluding his address, KTR said BRS leaders and cadres would continue their struggle without fear.
“As the children of Telangana, we will fight unitedly. Until KCR becomes Chief Minister again, our fight against Congress failures and corruption will continue,” he declared.
